Hastings Retreat Motel

How often do you talk to the people that are sharing a space with you on a holiday? The astings Retreat Boutique Motel is an energetic space that invites guests to communicate with people they might not otherwise meet to foster a unique experience. The motel includes 12 apartments, a restaurant, pool and clubhouse, bar and plenty of outdoor space. The original buildings have all been kept but the whole site was given a facelift.
The concept for the motel is The Butterfly Effect. This is the idea that every little event in the world has a massive, unknown effect. It's a chaotic theory that adds power behind every decision that you make. The floorplans for the motel are all very open plan with multiple configuration options to encourage conversation. It allows guests to move through the space seamlessly.
The colours and materials take inspiration from this chaotic idea. Whilst every space has its own unique scheme, there are repeating motifs of arched shapes, clashing patterns and complimentary colour schemes. These motifs help to tie the space together whilst still allowing for surprise and intrigue at every turn.
The motel is designed with everyone in mind. All ages, genders and walks of life are encouraged to come and stay at the Hastings Retreat Boutique Motel for a luxury experience that is full of life.
